High-quality early childhood education (ECE) is one of the most significant determinants of a person’s future success. Children who attend high-quality preschools are more likely to graduate from high school, go to college, and achieve higher earnings. Yet, childcare is prohibitively expensive and studies have found that 39.6% of children in California ages 3 - 5 years are not enrolled in preschool or kindergarten.

Join Assemblymember Marc Berman for a conversation with two of California’s leading early education experts: Dr. Deborah Stipek and Assemblymember Kevin McCarty. Hear an update from the lawmaker at the forefront of the state’s newly redoubled efforts to improve ECE in California. Crucial to this discussion is Dr. Stipek, one of California’s preeminent early education experts, who will discuss the research behind these efforts and what more lawmakers can do.

Please enjoy coffee and a light breakfast as Assemblymember Berman brings together the best of policy and lawmaking in California.
