District Office Staff
Mila Zelkha, District Director
Mila joined the office in September 2022. She comes to the public sector with a diverse background in the private and nonprofit sectors having been both a small business and nonprofit leader, as well as having provided community relations for the technology sector. Prior to her Assembly employment, she founded the social services organization Manzanita Works to support the welfare of workers and their families, and is a former Santa Clara County Roads and Palo Alto City Public Arts Commissioner among other honors. Mila graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design and is a recipient of a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for service to the community.
Leslie Bulbuk, Senior Field Representative
Leslie joined the office in January 2017. She has worked as a senior staffer for several local members of the State Assembly since 2003, including former Assemblymembers Rich Gordon, Paul Fong, and Speaker pro Tem Sally Lieber. Prior to her Assembly employment, she founded the public education organization Love Sees No Borders to raise awareness of the issues of same-gender binational couples, and also worked in the high tech and music fields. Leslie graduated from the University of Michigan and Bowling Green State University.
Pablo R. Velasquez, Field Representative
Pablo joined the office in April 2023. Before joining the office, he worked in the private sector for multiple law offices, worked as a college academic advisor, and has served as a Latino Affairs Commissioner for the County of Santa Cruz. Additionally, he has volunteered time for grassroots movements in the areas of housing and transportation, while attending the University of California-Santa Cruz. Pablo earned bachelor degrees in Politics and Legal Studies in 2022.
Elise Lester, Field Representative
Elise joined the office in April 2023. Prior to joining the office, she worked at a political consulting firm, managing the finances and mandatory reporting of various local level campaigns. She was the Campaign Coordinator for the Yes on Measure I campaign, a local school bond in Pleasanton, CA. She sat on the Organizing Committee for Starbucks Workers United and spearheaded the organizing efforts of a local Starbucks store that voted to unionize. Elise graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Political Science with minors in both Spanish and Legal Studies.

Capitol Office Staff
HARRY ERMOIAN, Chief of Staff
Harry became the Chief of Staff for Assemblymember Berman in December 2016. Prior to joining the staff, Harry served as Chief of Staff to former Assemblymembers Rich Gordon and Noreen Evans, as well as Capitol Director to former Assemblymember John Laird. He also served as Counsel to the Assembly Public Safety Committee and in several capacities with former Assemblymember Fred Keeley. Harry graduated from Santa Clara University with a degree in Political Science and received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Davis.
ELLEN HOU GREEN, Legislative Director
Ellen became the Legislative Director for Assemblymember Berman in December 2016. Prior to joining the staff, Ellen served in several capacities with former Assemblymember Rich Gordon, including most recently as his Legislative Director. Ellen graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a degree in Political Science, and received a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Southern California.
ISABELLE LASALLE, Senior Legislative Assistant
Isabelle joined the office in June 2018. Prior to joining the office, Isabelle worked at the California Transportation Foundation. Isabelle graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in English.
INDELIZE ZENDEJAS, Scheduler
Indelize joined the office in December 2021 as a Scheduler. Prior to joining the staff, Indelize served as a scheduler for former Assistant Majority Leader Assemblymember Ed Chau. Indelize graduated from University of California Davis with a degree in Political Science.
ALLIE UMEMOTO, Legislative Assistant
Allie joined the office in December 2021 as an Assembly Fellow. Prior to joining the staff, Allie served as an intern in Assemblymember Kevin McCarty’s District Office through the Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs (APAPA) internship program. Allie graduated from Scripps College with a dual degree in Sociology and Politics.
