Berman Takes Oath as Newest Assemblymember for 24th District

Top priorities include bridging achievement gap, rebuilding state’s infrastructure

SACRAMENTO – Marc Berman (D-Palo Alto) was sworn in today as the Assemblymember for the 24th Assembly District.

“It’s a great honor to represent the region where I grew up in the State Assembly,” said Assemblymember Berman. “I’m excited to get to work bridging the achievement gap in our public schools and rebuilding our state’s infrastructure.”

Berman formerly served on the Palo Alto City Council, where he led efforts to secure $150 million in infrastructure funding and increase budget transparency.

He is a graduate of Georgetown University and has a law degree from the University of Southern California, where he was president of the Student Bar Association.

The 24th Assembly District is comprised of southern San Mateo County and northern Santa Clara County in the heart of Silicon Valley. The ceremony was held on the Assembly Floor at the State Capitol.
