Berman Appointed to Assembly Committees Key to Bay Area

For immediate release:

SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Marc Berman (D-Palo Alto) has been appointed by Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon (D-Paramount) to serve on the following Committees: Elections and Redistricting; Jobs, Economic Development, and the Economy; Legislative Ethics; Privacy and Consumer Protection; and Transportation.

“I’m pleased that Speaker Rendon has named me to committees that reflect many of the issues of importance to the 24th Assembly District,” noted Assemblymember Berman. “The Silicon Valley has been on the forefront of expanding technology and growing California’s economy, but traffic congestion has increased, road conditions have deteriorated, and public transit availability has lagged. I will be focused on technology concerns central to the Silicon Valley as a member of the Privacy and Consumer Protection Committee, the development and expansion of new technologies as a member of the Jobs, Economic Development and Economy Committee, and policies to enable our transportation system to keep up with the growing demands of the economy on the Transportation Committee.”
