Assemblymember Berman Responds to the Governor’s State of the State Address

For immediate release:

SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Marc Berman (D-Palo Alto) released the following statement about Governor Brown’s State of the State Address:

Governor Brown, in his State of the State Address, emphasized California’s role as a leader in the fight to combat climate change. As Governor Brown points out, it is a fact that the climate is changing and the oceans are rising. California needs to stay vigilant in our efforts to prepare and adapt to the impacts of climate change. I take to heart the Governor’s continued call for action and have introduced Assembly Bill 184 to permanently continue California’s Planning for Sea Level Rise Database to combat sea level rise now and in the future. Despite action, or lack thereof, in Washington, California needs to remain at the forefront of responding to the impacts of climate change as there is still more work to be done.

Assemblymember Marc Berman represents the 24th Assembly District, which includes southern San Mateo County and northern Santa Clara County in the heart of the Silicon Valley. Website of Assemblymember Marc Berman: www.assembly.ca.gov/Berman
